Flood planting at Erzeni river- Innovator Polis University
This innovation is based on the alternative method of applying Coir logs (biodegradable coconut oil) and planting vegetation along the riverbank. This innovative intervention aims to prevent floods and limit erosion by implementing environmentally friendly techniques. This technique focuses on two alternative solutions 1) placing Coir Logs along the riverbank and two or three layers of vegetation in the selected area prone to floods and erosion. The purpose of this innovation/intervention is to use environmentally friendly techniques such as Coir Logs instead of conventional techniques such as steel bands, concrete, fences, and gabions.
